I wish I could be on such a wedding. Most of my weddings go smoothly and rarely anything goes wrong.
Rock and Roll Wedding
Author: Rebel
I just realised that I did not put any wedding photos online for quite a while and after all it is a wedding photographer’s blog. I will try to catch up. Today you can have a look at a really nice wedding.
Note that the decorations and invitations were designed and made by the bride. If you want some custom made invitations and decorations for your wedding then please get in touch with me so I could pass on your details to her. I believe she would love to arrange something for you.
Bye Bye WPJA
Author: Rebel
In September I received an invitation to renew my WPJA membership. I decided not to do it. The membership did not bring me anything apart from about a few clicks to my website. Two years ago when I joined them it felt nice that my work was appreciated and that I was accepted as a member. Now it looks like it was a waste of money. I am pretty sure I can find more ways to spend $300.
A very useful comparison.

I hesitated whether to buy an SLR camera with video recording feature or maybe i should go for Barbie Video Girl. Thanks to the comparison of Canon 7D vs Barbie that you can see below I finally made up my mind. Despite similar features the Canon camera seems to be slightly better.
Wedding Idea

Some people want to have traditional wedding with plenty of guests and huge reception. There are also others who care only about the comitment and they really want it to be their day only. When I got married I told my wife that I will never wear a wedding ring as it only annoys me (I took it off a couple of hours after ceremony as I could not stand it) but I can have a wedding ring tattoo on my finger (at least I wouldn’t lose it). But it never happened. sometime ago I heard about a couple who got married in a very romantic way and the guy went a step further with his wedding tattoo.
“Jim & I met in March of 1999, in 8 months we moved in together and were married on July 29, 2000. We would often go hiking not far from us and this waterfall was always our favorite spot to hike summer through winter so when it came time to get married we thought this would be the perfect place to do it surrounded by friends. Our reception was in our backyard.
As I started getting tattooed more and more Jim thought of having the waterfalls tattooed on his back and this is the end result.”
In my opinion this proof of love is worth much more than any wedding ring. Probably I will do something similar soon.
Wedding Photographer Shot by the couple.

A news I have read on metro.co.uk today
“Calogero Scimea was hit in the head after one of the rifles – provided by the couple’s parents – went off in front of horrified guests on the special day.
The 45-year-old had been standing in as a favour for the official photographer, who had been taken ill.
The groom’s parents, Mario, 56, and Rita, were being questioned yesterday and could face charges of negligence leading to manslaughter because the incident took place at their house.
The shooting happened just before former teenage sweethearts Valentina Anitra, 22, and Ignazio Licodia, 25, were to set off for their church at Altofonte near Palermo on the Italian island of Sicily.
‘From what we have been able to establish the photographer had asked the parents of the bride and groom if they had any guns to use as props and one went off,’ said police spokesman Col Teo Luzi.
‘The bride and groom were distraught and the wedding was cancelled.’ The hunting rifle was legally held. Guns are often fired during family events in Sicily.”
No comments from me on this one.
Scooby Band
Author: Rebel
One of the things I like about the job of a wedding photojournalist is that sometimes it is very fun too. On one of the recent weddings I had a pleasure to see and listen to a very good cover band. They call themselves Scooby Band and they do rock. I really enjoyed their performance and most probably will go to see them again. You can see them at the video below.
